The renovated and furnished tranquil country apartment lies in the heart of the magnificent Unesco-listed conservation area. The characteristics of this unspoilt landscape are their woods and their stunning views over the rolling hills and meadows of the Rhoen.
Enjoy the numerous footpaths from your doorstep leading in all directions to various sites and outdoor activities.

The ‘Wasserkuppe’, the highest mountain in the Rhoen (950 m, reached by car in about 10 minutes) is known as ‘the mountain of gliders’ famous for its glider museum and its history of gliding. If you don’t want to try it out yourself you can entertain yourself by watching the many gliders, paragliders and hanggliders or the small motor planes.

Location and surroundings

The principal attractions of the area are walking from easy strolls to longer hikes, rock climbing, mountain biking, ‘summer tobogganing’, bird-watching, swimming, in the summer and sledging, snowboarding, downhill skiing or cross-country skiing in the winter.
In the hamlet itself there are two riding schools, which offer horse-back riding, stage coach or covered wagon rides and sleigh-riding in the winter.

The ancient and picturesque market town of Gersfeld with its restaurants, cafes, supermarkets, shops, swimming pools is only a 15-20 minutes walk away from Mosbach. Let yourself be spoiled by the health programmes of the Spa, the regional cuisine or have a look at the animals in the Wildlife preserve.

   Im August 08 verbrachten wir unseren Urlaub im Ferienhaus "Rhönspass". Das Haus hat uns gut gefallen: außer dass es frisch renoviert und gemütlich eingerichtet ist, konnten wir uns über das großzügige Platzangebot freuen. Vor allem die große überdachte Terrasse und die anschließende eingezäunte Grünfläche rings um das Haus lädt gerade Kinder zum ungestörten Spielen ein. Bei Schlechtwetter kann man in den Hobbyraum im Keller ausweichen oder in der Garage Tischtennis spielen. Außerdem liegt das Haus völlig ruhig am Rande einer kleinen Ortschaft. Nur ein paar Schritte und man ist mitten im Grünen und kann beim Spazierengehen Kühe und vor allem Pferde beobachten (2 Reiterhöfe sind gleich in der Nachbarschaft). Also insgesamt ideale Voraussetzungen für einen erholsamen Urlaub für Familien mit Kindern, Naturliebhaber bzw. Ruhe suchende Menschen.

   Wir können das Ferienhaus nur wärmstens empfehlen. Die Einrichtung, gerade auch mit dem gusseisernen Ofen im EG, ist urgemütlich, die Ausstattung ist perfekt. In der Küche war wirklich alles vorhanden. Absolute Ruhe, herrliche Aussicht. Sehr geräumig, wir hatten das Haus für ein Wochenende für drei Paare gemietet und uns - auch dank der zwei Bäder -nicht beengt gefühlt. Anfahrt war im Winter bei Neuschnee allerdings nicht ganz unproblematisch, jedenfalls mit Heckantrieb.
   
   Insgesamt absolut top, wir werden das Ferienhaus sicherlich wieder einmal für einen Kurztrip von Frankfurt aus besuchen.
