The roof terrace	The vacation rental La Placette ist an about 250 years old stone house in the Cathar country opposite a small square with a mulberry tree and benches. It has been restored with loving care to the last detail in Mediterrean style and is completely antique furnished. The typical elements of the architecture of rural Languedoc (fireplaces, exposed beams, terra-cotta paved floors, ancient stone sink) give the house its charm. The big sunny roof terrace is waiting for you for al fresco dinners and relaxing. Since we are living in Bizanet, you have the advantage that we can give you hints for excursions, wine discovery tours, gastronomy and cultural events!
Fontfroide Abbey	The surrounding area Our guest house is situated in the heart of the village in a quaint lane almost without any car. Bizanet is a nice quiet winegrowers village with 1200 inhabitants, 12 km from Narbonne, 24 km from the Mediterranean, 30 km from the Cathar castles and 50 km from Carcassonne, surrounded by vineyards and pine trees, which is ideally situated for exploring the wine producing region of the Corbières in stunning nature. The Cistercian abbey of Fontfroide (XIth century) is situated on the territory of Bizanet amidst the "garrigue". In Bizanet you will find a small supermarket and a baker and... besides the winegrowers cooperative a dozen private wine cellars. On several days, there are market stalls selling fish, meat, poultry, fruit on the square.
