One Ground Floor Apartment, Nafplio, Greece
The ground floor apartment, which is part of a two storey new building, overlooks the beautiful orange tree valley of Argolid where over half of the total orange production of Greece is being produced. The house is located three kilometers away from the center of the historic town of Nafplion and it can be the center for daily excursions to many famous ancient sites. Theater of Epidauros, Mycenae, Olympia, Corinth, Tyrintha (one the first citadels in Europe), the Byzantine town of Mystras, the prehistoric caves of Dyros where you can see the unique in the world formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and the fortes town of Monemvasia; or one can have relaxing day trips to beautiful nearby islands. |

The surrounding area
Nafplion is described as one of the most sophisticated and beautiful towns in Greece and it was candidate for cultural capital of Europe. It was the first capital of the modern state of Greece and it is the perfect spot for daily excursions to many nearby interesting sites. It is only 1 1/2 hours away (by car) from Athens.
Aria is a quite village on the side of the hill looking down over Nafplion. As a village it has everything the local community needs. Naflio was the first capital of Greece and what attracts the visitor is the old medieval and neoclassical city with marble paving’s, wooden balconies, bougainvilleas that overflow from walled courtyards, ancient fountains, the square of Constitution with the old Turkish baths (film and Stage Theater today) and coffee shops. Palamidi, the castle atop the hill, overlooks all of Nauflio. You can climb this by its 999 steps or, if you want to take it easy, take the road around the back! Bourzti is the name of the island fort in the bay and there is a boat (4 euros per person).
On Saturdays and Wednesday there is the local produce market on one of the more major roads in Nafplio which has become quite a big market with cloths stalls and flower stalls and so. Naflio has an attractive 'town beach' or five minutes away sweeping golden sands of Carathona bay.

Around Nafplion there are many beautiful beaches where you can go for a swim or any other type of water sport. The town itself (two hours away, by road, from Athens) is a cultural center with several museums, theatres and art galleries.
