Erica's apartment in Edinburgh is a fully equipped modern vacation apartment and ideally suited for 2 persons or a small family up to 4 persons.

Located in a quite cul de sac the apartment is on the first floor, and can be reached by lift. The living room has French windows onto a balcony.The kitchen and bathroomhave recently been renovated to a high standard

Telephone calls will be charged at cost.

This vacation apartment is a 100 m away from our other vacation apartment (Pamela’s) where secure covered parking in the building may be availabe for free on request.

Location and surroundings

Stockbridge is a vibrant part of Edinburgh’s city centre. This area has a lively village atmosphere.

There is a choice of pubs, good food shops and restaurants on Raeburn Place which is 50 meters from the apartment. The Royal Botanic Gardens are just up the road and a scenic walk along the Water of Leith brings you to the dean Gallerie and the Scottich national Gallerie of modern Art.

Stockbridge is on the edge of the New Town (built in the early 1800’s) and the very centre of Edinburgh.

The walking time to the city centre is about 15 minutes.From the nearby bus stop buses depart every 10 minutes or so to Holyrood Palace and Scottich Parliament, The Edinburgh Festival Theatre. or the Usher Hall.

Arrival

The apartment is a £20 taxi ride from the airport, and a £6 taxi from the central station. The expres airport bus is £5 to the central station.
If you arrive by car I will send you detailed directions. ( Parking garage may be available in the next door building.

On the arrival day I will be in the apartment to meet you , and show you how everything works. The apartment will be ready for you from 1pm and the check out time is 10am. These times can be adjusted with mutual agreement.

On departure you lock the door and put the keys through the letterbox.Simple.

We bought a flat for our daughter to live in when she went to univercity in Edinburgh. When Erica moved to London we renovated the flat and started renting it. This was successful and in 2006 we bought Pamela's flat next door.

    Wir haben zur Vorbereitung der Hochzeit unserer jüngsten Tochter Sabine mit dem Highlander Jonathan die Pemela-Wohnung für 1 Woche gemietet. Die Wohnung ist mit Wohnzimmer/integrierter Küche, Bad und Schafraum für 2 Personen mehr als ausreichend und sehr gemütlich. Alles in der Wohnung hat bestens funktioniert.
    Stockbridge ist eine bevorzugte Lage in Edinburgh, alles für den Einkauf ist lokal vorhanden und ein super Pub namens "Hektors" ist gleich nebenan. :-) Zum Stadt-Zentrum kann man in ca. 15 min. laufen, der Royal Botanic Garden ist noch näher.
    Die Menschen um Stockbridge herum sind sehr freundlich und hilsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort wohnen wollen und danken den Hendersons für die opportunity.

    Wir haben unsere Tochter besucht, die in Edinburgh studiert, und wollten die Stadt kennenlernen. Die Wohnung ist der optimale Ausgangspunkt. Die Hauptattraktionen sind in Laufnähe, zur Princess-Street ca. 12 Minuten zu Fuß, der Botanische Garten und der Walkway of Leith direkt um die Ecke. Die Wohnung ist wirklich sehr schön und zum Wohlfühlen, unsere Tochter zog für die Dauer unseres Aufenthaltes direkt mit ein, es steht ja auch ein Gästezimmer zur Verfügung. Die Küche ist komplett eingerichtet mit genügend Geschirr etc, dem Kochen steht nichts im Wege. Ein kleiner Korb für den ersten Hunger stand bereit, sogar eine kleine Flasche Whisky - danke Johann. Supermarkt um die Ecke - tolle frische Brötchen. Nächstes Jahr zum Master-Abschluss - wir kommen gerne wieder.

    We had stayed at Erica's before and enjoyed it so much that we brought our family back for a family vacation. We stayed at Pamela's Flat (same owners, right around the corner) and our children and grandchildren stayed at Erica's. Even though Erica's is advertised as one bedroom, there is a second small sleeping room. We were again, impressed with the cleanliness, the location and the accessibility of everything we could possibly need. You can shop for all your necessities within a two block radius, the area is quiet and picturesque, and the bus stops within steps of your front door. You can walk to the Queen's Gardens, the Village of Dean, along the Waters of Leith and it is less than a 15 minute walk to Prince's Street. Both flats have everything you need and some unexpected treats.... we loved the heated bathroom floor at Pamela's! Johan, the owner, will answer any questions you may have and is very accessible to answer questions. If you have any problems climbing stairs, choose Erica's (there is a lift). If not, either will be a perfect place to spend your holiday in Edinburgh!

    We were really pleased with the cleanliness and prentation of the flat. It had all we needed and more. Dead easy to get anywhere from the flat and the car parking was a real boon. We had a terrific time sadly only 4 days but we packed in all we could but do have to go back as there is just so much to do and so many excellent pubs and restaurants around the place. People were so friendly and helpful so its a must if you want a city break.

    This is a cosy and pleasant apartment in Stockbridge, an area in the North of the New Town. There are internet access, a tv/dvd combo, a hairdryer, a full equipped kitchen with a washing machine. The only thing we needed to bring was our personal stuff. It was the first time that me and my boyfriend rented an apartment for our vacations and it's the best thing you can do. You have privacy and you can save money at the same time. We loved to stay here! It´s only a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the city center and it´s in a very quiet area. The Stockbridge area has lots of groceries, supermarkets and a 10 minutes walk Tesco. There are pubs, charity shops, cleaners, restaurants and friendly people. The owners are very charming and helpful and we wish all the best for them. We look forward to returning!
