The Holiday Apartment

The non-smoking apartment built in 1998 is several times modernized. It is lovely furnished and equipped with a balcony on the south-east side with a view over the lake. The modern kitchen is equipped with a dish washer. Washer and dryer are available in the basement. Cabel TV and WLAN connection is provided. The beach is located few yards away. The bicycle circuit starts in front of the building. Also very convenient you find the promenade, yacht harbour and surfing school. The apartment is very easy to reach by public transportation.

Location and surroundings

The small town of Steinhude is located on the southern shore of the Steinhuder Lake, 20 miles west of Hanover, Germany. It was formerly a small fishing village. Now it’s a primarily rural, nationally - recognized holiday resort. The fishing nets and baskets, the fishing boats and the peat skiffs on the shore provide a touch of nostalgia. Even today the fishermen still sail out onto the lake. In the town centre of Steinhude you will find many old, half-timbered houses, cosy restaurants and numerous shops. The locality of Steinhude offers a great choice of leisure and sporting activities. The focus of the Steinhuder holiday resort is the 35 000 square metre artificial beach island 'Badeinsel', with a beautiful sandy beach

   Es war Zufall, dass wir gerade auf diese Unterkunft gestoßen sind, aber es war ein Glücksgriff. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und in unser gemütliches Urlaubsdomizil geführt, wo wir uns sofort heimisch fühlten. Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, mehr, als wir von anderen Wohnungen bisher gewohnt waren, sogar die Tageszeitung lag im Briefkasten. Das freundliche Herbstwetter ließ es zu, dass wir die herrliche Umgebung von Steinhude sowohl zu Fuß als auch mit den Rädern ein wenig kennenlernen konnten und mit Bus und Bahn ist man auch schnell mal in Hannover. Unseren Freunden und Bekannten werden wir die Wohnung wärmstens empfehlen und wir haben vor, irgendwann auch wieder zu kommen.

   Die Ferienwohnung war Ende Mai 2011 für 6 Tage unser zu Hause. Ein sehr gepflegtes Haus auf einem sehr gepflegten Grundstück. Sehr freundliche Aufnahme und Betreuung.
   Die Wohnung: Besonders schön das geräumige Wohnzimmer mit seiner großen Fensterfront zum Südwestbalkon und einem weiteren Fenster zur Meerseite, d.h. vom Essplatz aus Blick auf das Steinhuder Meer. Mögliche Aktivitäten u.a. Ausflüge mit den Fahrrädern. Eine Fahrt rund ums das Steinhuder Meer (34 km) ist natürlich Pflicht. Die Linienboote nach Mardorf nehmen auch Fahrräder mit, so dass man das Meer auch an zwei Tagesetappen umfahren kann. Wer seine Aktivitäten auch auf Hannover oder den nahen Deister ausdehnen möchte, müsste sich einen längeren Aufenthalt gönnen. Wir kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder.
