The vacation rental
The cosy lounge has a south-facing picture window looking out directly to the village green with its children's play facilities. It is equipped with TV/video/DVD player, radio/CD player and "wood burner effect" electric fire. A door leads out to the patio area at the rear.
The modern kitchen is open-plan from the lounge, and is fully equipped with full-size electric oven and hob, microwave, automatic washer/dryer and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dining table to seat 4, and a full range of utensils, crockery and cutlery is provided. A child's high chair is also available on request.
Upstairs is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom with open views north. |

The surrounding area
Hermiston Village is located half a mile to the west of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, cose to the Heriot-Watt University and the Union Canal. It was awarded Conservation Area status on 20 June 1997 to preserve its unspoiled traditional character against an ever expanding city. The village is in a unique location, being only half a mile from the Edinburgh City Bypass with easy access to the M8, M9 and M90 motorways, the A1 trunk road, the airport and the new Zeebrugge to Rosyth Superfast ferry terminal. There is a good regular bus service to the city centre, about 6 miles away.
The cottage is in the centre of the village, enjoying an excellent position directly opposite the village green with its safe children's play facilities.
