The area has a wealth of natural interest with limestone scars, caves, open moors, the "Three Peaks", and there are wonderful walks and cycle tracks on the doorstep.
A trip on the Settle to Carlisle railway is a popular day out, and the Lake District and "Herriot Country" are nearby.
