The cottage looks out on Lough Derg, and sits on the border of Co. Clare and Co. Tipperary. The hill itself is believed to be the site of a bronze age hill fort.
The house is surrounded by farmland, and you'll see tractors and cows while you're there, and goats, donkeys, horses and friendly dogs if you go for a walk!
It is just 10 minutes drive to the pretty lakeside towns of Killaloe, and Dromineer, both of which host a range of arts, music and boating festivals during the year. Our house is also just three miles from Gary Kennedy - original home of the famous US President Kennedy's family - a centre for Irish music - and some great pubs!
Our neighbours at Loughtea will be happy to help you with any queries during your stay.

Hi. I'm Jo. Before I married I built this beautiful cottage overlooking Lough Derg.
I am a writer, my husband is a marketing consultant. This year, we welcomed our baby son, Arlow.
When we are not living here ourselves, we rent out the cottage.

Relax and enjoy...even with kids!!
20/01/2011
by K. Bremner from Bicester, OxonWe stayed here with our 8 month old and had a wonderful time. The house has been really nicely furnished and is warm and restful with good set up for kids. We loved the views over the Lough, local walks and trips into town for a few beers with the locals! We found it great for a long weekend to chill out but would loved to have stayed longer and explored the area more.

A wounderful place to stay!
27/08/2009
by Petra Henn from Waldems/GermanyWe spend our holidays in August 2009 and had really a great time. The Pumphouse Cottage is a lovely place to stay. The view from the living-room was amazing. We did not need a TV, because of that view. It is a very quiet neighbourhood, with friendly and helpful neighbours (especially Diana). We would like to come back to visit Ireland. Hopefully the Pumphouse Cottage is still to rent, because we really loved it there.

12/03/2009
by P. Grigor from ScotlandWe came for a family holiday- wish we could have stayed on and on...
The view of the Loch is stunning, foregrounded by the neighbouring cows, who seem to arrange themselves for maximum picturesque impact! A magical, tranquil home-from-home. Even my toddler relaxed! Thank you so much... we'll be back6 of 9 persons think this rating is helpful

Cosy holiday home
12/03/2009
by J Pascoe from New ZealandWe had a fantastic stay in Ireland, and felt so welcome and relaxed in this warm home. The rural setting and gorgeous view of the lough let us leave the stress of our working and school lives behind. We enjoyed a wonderful walk with the local yacht club, visits to local villages Neenagh and Killaloe, as well as a tour of St John's Castle in Limerick. We would definitely like to make a return trip!
