The Holiday House
Our village is truly idyllic – surrounded by healthy forests, no one disturbs you here. A small road takes you to us, which then disappears into the soft, hilly landscape!
The old farmhouse was built 200 years ago and renovated by in 2006, paying attention to the preservation of its old structure, and turned it into a comfortable holiday home. Great attention was paid for the choice of materials and installations, to ensure environmentally friendly materials were used. The vacation house is suited to people who regard peace and intact Nature as richness, who wish to experience this or convey this to their children. A scent and herb garden in the central courtyard invites you to enjoy the scents. There is a ceramics workshop next to the house.
Special features
There is a herbal scent garden in the green inner courtyard, a large sandpit with toys and a climbing frame.
We are happy to provide our guests with vegetables from our organic garden when the harvest is good! A roving supermarket and baker visit the village.

It is only 1.5 km from Stadtschlaining, the smallest city in Austria, to the Schönau. The road goes through a jungle-like mixed forest, along a picturesque stream.
There are general food and organic food shops, restaurants, pizzerias, doctors and pharmacies in Stadtschlaining (Peace museum, Castle, Synagogue with library, Peace University).
You will find supermarkets, a cinema and a hospital in the district capital, Oberwart.

Unser allerliebstes Ferienhaus

by Maier Brigitte from MünchenEin wunderbar restauriertes Häuschen mit viel mehr als man sich wünschen kann.
Zwei sehr schöne, von den Besitzern selbst gearbeitete Öfen, eine Küche ausgestattet mit einfach Allem, ein großzügiges Bad und ein grosses Schlafzimmer unter dem Dach, mit der Garantie für erholsamen Schlaf.
Das schöne, mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltete Wohnzimmer, von uns meist ungenutzt, weil die Terasse im Innenhof so traumhaft idyllisch ist. Der Innenhof ist eine Oase für uns, mit Kräutergarten und Sandkasten ein geschützter und entspannter Rahmen für Eltern und Kind. Tagsüber hört man den Kuckuck und abends ruft das Käuzchen...
Und ums noch perfekter zu machen - die sehr netten Menschen im Ort, mit den Enten, Schafen, Hühnern, Katzen und Hund. Unser Sohn liebt die Schönau und wir tun es auch.
