The surrounding area
The estate of Fontanile lies in an area called Maremma, a lesser known and therefore all the more captivating part of Tuscany. Only 1,5 hours from Rome, one is able to enjoy the typical Tuscan way of living together with beach holidays. A wide strip of fertile land separates the sea from the mountains. It is here that the Villa Fontanile stands, surrounded by trees and a charming garden. Only a few km down south from the peninsula Monte Argentario with the famous towns of Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano.
Cultural landmarks of the Maremma, such as Tarquinia and Tuscania, Orbetello and Viterbo can be reached in more or less than a 30 minutes drive.
